TrAM Conference: Water to Land Mobility Hubs

September 21, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join the international conference either digitally or physically in Stavanger, Norway! Here we’ll address planning and operation of mobility hubs as a component of sustainable and user-oriented mobility in cities.

As a result of ambitious climate targets and the need for more sustainable transport solutions in cities around the world, the number of battery electric ferries and fast ferries is expected to grow rapidly in the years to come. Waterborne transport plays a central role in the urban mobility system, and can help secure an efficient low-emission ecosystem.

The conference is organized within the context of the TrAM project, an EU-funded project for the modular development of emission-free high-speed passenger ferries. In the process an appropriate design of the mobility hub in the city of Stavanger will ensure the integration of the ferry service into the urban mobility system – the “Medstraum” vessel will be operating a multi-stop commuter route for mobility provider Kolumbus, and will be officially launched in Stavanger the very next day!

In this hybrid event, representatives from the TrAM project, Kolumbus, and other initiatives related to sustainable passenger transport will share their experience with water-land mobility, and we will learn more about both challenges and solutions from all over the world.
