SUMMARY:TrAM Conference: Water to Land Mobility Hubs
DESCRIPTION:Join the international conference either digitally or physically in Stavanger\, Norway! Here we’ll address planning and operation of mobility hubs as a component of sustainable and user-oriented mobility in cities. \nAs a result of ambitious climate targets and the need for more sustainable transport solutions in cities around the world\, the number of battery electric ferries and fast ferries is expected to grow rapidly in the years to come. Waterborne transport plays a central role in the urban mobility system\, and can help secure an efficient low-emission ecosystem. \nThe conference is organized within the context of the TrAM project\, an EU-funded project for the modular development of emission-free high-speed passenger ferries. In the process an appropriate design of the mobility hub in the city of Stavanger will ensure the integration of the ferry service into the urban mobility system – the “Medstraum” vessel will be operating a multi-stop commuter route for mobility provider Kolumbus\, and will be officially launched in Stavanger the very next day! \nIn this hybrid event\, representatives from the TrAM project\, Kolumbus\, and other initiatives related to sustainable passenger transport will share their experience with water-land mobility\, and we will learn more about both challenges and solutions from all over the world. \nAGENDA: \n\n13:00 – 13:10  Welcome and Introduction: Edith Kristin Nøkling\, Kolumbus CEO\, Stavanger & Tonje Hovland\, Maritime CleanTech Project Coordinator\n13:10 – 13:20  Warm Up – get to know each other: Fabian Edel\, Innovation Design\, Fraunhofer IAO\, Stuttgart\, Germany\n13:20 – 13:30 Introduction of the Tram Project: Mikal Dahle\, Project Manager – TrAM\, Kolumbus AS\, Stavanger\n13:30 – 13:50 Ship transport as an integral part of future mobility: Steinar Meling\, CEO of Yago and Project Manager at Nordic Edge\, Stavanger\n13:50 – 14:05 Coffee Break\n14:05 – 15:15 Challenges and solutions for water-land mobility interfaces around the world:\n\nThe Stavanger Mobility Hub\, Espen Strand Henriksen\, Kolumbus Mobility Developer\nLondon´s approach\, Craig Brown\, Thames Clippers Head of Fleet Logistics\nKiel´s approach\, Malten Rose\, Traffic planner\, Public Transport Authority\, City of Kiel\nNew York City´s approach\, Jedediah Tango\, NYC Economic Development Corporation Senior Associate\, Asset Management – Port NYC\n\n\n15:15 – 15:45  Panel Discussion – How to design a land-to-water mobility hub? Moderated by Fabian Edel\, Innovation Design\, Fraunhofer IAO\, Stuttgart\, Germany & Tonje Hovland\, Maritime CleanTech Project Coordinator\n15:45 – 16:00 Official farewell (end of digital event)\n\nOpen End to mingle and meet the speakers in Stavanger. \nIf you are participating digitally\, you will be provided with a link to the online event. \nSIGN UP HERE! SUMMARY:Webinar: Modular Design & Engineering – Sustainable\, low-impact platform-based ship design
DESCRIPTION:Worldwide competition is fierce\, and in order to maintain world-leadership in complex\, value-added and highly specialised vessels\, European shipbuilders must develop tailor-made innovative concepts that are efficient to design and build. \nThe NAVAIS project is developing a platform-based modular product family approach supported by the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform. This concept will increase efficiency in vessel design and flexibility in production networks. The project focuses on passenger/road ferries and multi-use workboats integrating sustainability in the design of the ships. NAVAIS will support the transfer from an engineered-to-order business model to an assemble-to-order business model\, which will allow shorter process lead-times\, constant quality\, reduced design and production costs and better integration of the SME supply chain\, thereby increasing competitiveness of the European shipbuilding industry. \nIn this series of 4 webinars\, we will not only inform you on the progress the project is making\, but also get you up to speed on several other related developments\, including the EC-funded TrAM project and inspiration from outside the marine industry. \nIn the second webinar\, Tobias Seidenberg from Fraunhofer IEM will present findings in the H2020 TrAM project. \nModular Design & Engineering – Sustainable\, low-impact platform-based ship design; \n\nSystems engineering principles in shipbuilding – a demo case example – (Damen);\nEnvironmental impact reduction – optimization (Bureau Veritas)\nUnderwater Radiated Noise (URN) prediction tools – designing for low URN in early design stages (MARIN)\n\nMore information/registration: https://p.easydus.com/project/825947e3-ea1f-4c52-8090-566653416b8f/form/1?sig=fea53c4fa288f8689a1c1e86b74dce862eae5be9665cf7e476619fb5adb9fb1e
